Torimabushi 🐥
This is Torikin's signature dish - the chicken was incredibly tender, drenched in a very well executed Teriyaki sauce then topped with a runny soft boiled egg.

Katsudon 🐖
One my all time favorite! It might look simple tender, juicy, crispy pork cutlets paired with egg and onions, all smushed into a pile of rice? What’s not to like?

Last but not least, we had a variety of Yakitori, I highly recommend the Butabara (Pork Belly) & Torimomo (chicken leg & thigh) the sauce that was marinated into these skewers were just amazing, I would come back for more because it's just so hard to resist!

Good news if you're a ramen lover! I found a new ramen joint located conveniently in SS2 PJ. What makes this ramen joint different from the others? Solomen Cafe uses fresh ingredients and prepares everything from scratch so you will be able to enjoy fresh ramen here, besides making their own ramen, the sauces, broth, fillings and gyoza skin is also homemade.

There are many types of Ramen from light to rich broths and flavours, Solomen cafe has 3 types of broths to choose from Shoyu based, Miso based and my personal favourite Tonkotsu based pair it with their noodles for a perfect bowl of Ramen. The cafe also serves a range of cold pressed juices, speciality ice tea, homemade soda and coffee, along with matcha drinks and ice cream.

The interior of Solemen Cafe was very simply designed, over the nice clean walls there were two pieces of beautiful Japanese Geisha wall art. There were around 12 tables with 2-6 seating capacity since I visited during lunch time the cafe was quite packed but luckily I manage to find myself space.

Match Latte RM10.90

Passion Peach Sparker RM10.90

Gyoza RM11.90
Fried dumplings? Oh yes! The gyoza skin had good consistency, it was thin it was made by the cafe itself, filled with fresh filling, the meat was juicy and properly seasoned.

Tori Karaage RM14.50
I'm a big fan of Japanese Fried Chicken and this is one of the best chicken kaarage I've ever eaten! The chicken karaage was juicy, tasty and yummy with crispy coating it was just so addictive! It came in 3 pieces but the portion was really generous, overall an excellent dish carried out. Must order!

Kimchi Ramen RM19.90
Do you like kimchi? Then this dish is just right for you. The Kimchi Ramen is shoyu based, the broth is lighter, mix the kimchi with the broth for a sweet-savoury-slightly tangy flavour. The bowl comes with springy homemade ramen, char siew, kimchi and the runny eggs.

Tonkotsu Ramen RM20.90
The perfectly good ramen, the creamy broth made from pork bone is velvety and rich, the noodles are firm and chewy. The bowl is topped with fatty pieces of char siew, delicate nori and soft runny eggs. The balance of the flavour was just perfect, the broth was so addictive I finish it up!

Shiogayaki Don RM21.50
Such an unforgettable dish, I was obsessed with it. Fine pieces of tender juicy pork slices glazed with sweet flavorful soy sauce served on rice. to I must say this one was my pick of the day, my personal favourite!

Solomen Cafe is certainly the right choice if you love hearty, well-prepared meal, it was a pleasant meal and I had no complaints about it, they have quite a variety of food, therefore, I am planning to go back and try other versions of Ramen.

Bocosan Izakayan is a modern Japanese Restaurant, I like how they kept the interior very simple, neat and clean. They have three dining areas here in Bocosan Izakaya, the main indoor dining area, a VIP Room and the bar seating with beautiful orchids in the center. The ambiance was just really zen and everyone was enjoying their dinner so I just skipped taking pictures of the interior.

Agedashi Tofu RM18
My favorite dish to start off with whenever I dine at a Japanese restaurant. A delicate dish - fried tofu topped with garnishes sitting in hot dashi sauce, its crispy on the outside, meltingly soft on the inside. Bocosan's portion was pretty big actually compared to what I usually get out of it.
Sorry to say, but this was the disappointment of the night. When it was served we were quite excited because it was really fragrant unfortunately the broth was too salty which was a waste because the chicken was really delicious. Hopefully they will improve on this.

Bocosan Wagyu Don RM95
This dish is so mouthwatering, I can't wait to revisit and have it again. The don comes with pieces of sliced Wagyu, runny eggs alongside with condiments like fried garlic and mushrooms. The Wagyu was tender and juicy, I asked for a medium which was the best temperature because I wouldn't want to waste a beautiful protein like this.

Bocosan Izakaya is built with effort on the design, the service was on point, the staffs were really friendly and accommodating, we also appreciate how they took our feedback seriously because sometimes restaurants just brush them off and I hate that. Good job guys! Overall everything was enjoyable, I can't wait to visit them again, I've been eyeing on their sashimi can't wait to try them once this pregnancy is over.

Tempura Moriawase
I have always loved tempuras and this one is no exception, I must say they made a lot of effort to make this dish so delicate and beautiful, the dish consists of shrimp, sweet potato, beans, fish, and seasonal vegetables.

Sushi Moriawase
Sushi Moriawase is a mixed platter of sushi. The ingredients were really fresh, one look at it, you know you just can't help to have a bite especially the salmon roe!

Seafood Teppanyaki
Another mouth watering dish, the lightly seasoned scallop, and prawns grilled to perfection and they were absolutely delicious.

Yakitori Omakase
Choose your favorite yakitori of choice, they are lightly seasoned but they ingredients itself does most of the talking. The sweet potato was shockingly good and the chicken wings were firm and tender and the same time. The yakitori is eaten dipped in a sweet-salty sauce with raw egg yolk. Your mouth fills the flavors of yakitori.
