Bangkok is without a doubt my favorite cities in the world, I'm never bored of it and I've been visiting again and again because of the great hospitality, people, food and energy the city brings.

Miya is 4 this year and I thought why not bring her out for a short trip to my favorite city? Here are my 3 days itinerary of things to do in Bangkok with Kids, this will cover everything from food to accommodation to transportation.

Wifi is available at most places like hotels and malls but to be safe I've got a SIM card as soon as I touch down Don Meung Airport which cost only 170bhat for 5 days.


Transportation

The best way to commute is actually taking the train because Bangkok is pretty well known for its traffic jams. There are times when Miya was too tired to walk so don't forget to download the GRAB app cause it'll be useful when the time comes.

Accommodation

We stay at Center Point Pratunam, it's located opposite Platinum Shopping Mall,  a kids club on F floor, thanks for the help of my sis I was able to sneak off for a massage and shopping plus laundry room is also available.



Tips for traveling with young kids

#1 Make sure your child is eating right and getting enough sleep. This will help prevent tantrums caused by fatigue and irritability.

#2 Prepare her favorite toys & books to sleep her distracted. Waiting at the airport for 2hours is not easy for a child.

#3 Pick the right time and place. Some places may get really crowded by midday so try going over earlier.

#4. Don't over plan your day, younger kids need their nap time so remember to schedule in some downtime.


Day 1: Platinum Mall + Siam Square

Platinum Mall wasn't a really good choice for kids but the hotel was just right opposite so we dropped by and grabbed a few clothes for the girls and we headed to Siam Square.

Knowing how much Miya like Hello Kitty, our first stop here is the Hello Kitty cafe. The cafe is located inside Siam Square mall, you can easily spot the signage, the cafe is huge, with 3 floors for you to explore, the basement is a retail shop for Hello Kitty merchandise and 2nd and 3rd floor is the seating area for you to enjoy your food and each floor is decorated with lots of pink Hello Kitty decoration.




After Miya's done taking pictures and exploring each floor, we decided to chill and have some Hello Kitty ice cream, it cost us 265bhat which was pretty reasonable for a cafe like that.

Since she was really cooperative we also manage to do some shopping at the bazaar beside the mall, tops were 200-250bhat and there were funkier clothing for kids as well which cost us 150-200bhat. I find shopping here cheaper than Platinum Mall.


Day 2:  Imagina + Terminal 21 + Asiatique



Started day 2 with brunch at Kuppadeli because I wanted to pay some respects at Erawan Shrine. We ordered a big breakfast, toast, and pancakes, overall the food was good, portions were big but the service was slow.










After breakfast, we took a train to Imaginia Playland at The Emporium Shopping Mall, this place was perfect for kids, it's a spacious indoor playland with tons of interactive activities suitable for young kids, priced at 250bhat for kids and 200bhat for adults for 3 hours.
Please prepare your own socks otherwise you may grab a pair for 50bhat


Once we're done playing we took the train to Terminal 21 and had Japanese Food at my favorite restaurant Ootoya, they've got the best chawanmushi and the food was good as usual, did a little bit of shopping before we went back to the hotel for a short nap.


Spend our evening at Asiatique, this place is a combination of a mall and night market. We took a grab car which cost us 400bhat here's a lot of dining options here, had dinner at one of it which was beside the riverfront.


We also went for the Asiatique Sky – the big Ferris Wheel after dinner, cost 450bhat for Adults and 250bhat for Kids below 120cm the wait was around 20 minutes but it was worth waiting because we had the whole cubicle to ourselves to enjoy the night view of the riverfront.





Came down from our ride and saw this super cute stall, Love Milk, the pastel-colored unicorn drink caught Miya's attention, so we sat down and had toast with kaya and a unicorn smoothie.

Day 3: Sealife Bangkok + Central World



It's our last day here and we decided to spend it at a gigantic aquarium under Siam Paragon Shopping Centre. Sealife Bangkok is a must on the list, exploring this aquarium was really interesting for both of us, just take note on the timing for talks and shows it was really worth staying for those.


We were here on our first day and it was really packed so we came really early in the morning to avoid the crowd. The place is very well set up, and interactive & educational for kids. Tickets are not cheap but to avoid the line I purchased my tickets on Travelog which was half the price so it made it really worth visiting.

Ended our day with a good meal at Central World before we went back to the hotel and packed for home. By this time, Miya was a little bit homesick and to be honest me too but overall it was a great trip for the both of us, just bear in mind Bangkok means lots of walking so it might be a good idea to bring along your stroller if your kid isn't keen on walking, I nearly broke my back carrying her around.

Baan Glom Gig is a great place to eat authentic delicious Thai food to spice up your palette. The restaurant is opened by TV host Kiat Kitcharoen "Sumo Gig", with his mother, Khun Sucha, in the kitchen sharing her own simple yet unique dishes.

Baan Glom Gig is located in a double story white house with contemporary décor and comfortable setting with great hospitality from their service team. The area is really convenient I got there by MRT, the station stop is the Phloen Chit Station. They serve a large variety of Thai food as well as a few fusion dishes of Spaghetti with Thai stir fried dishes. I will be returning for the dessert because I did not have the chance to try it this round.


Deep Fried Crispy Morning Glory Salad 220 Bhat
This is a great starter, the fried morning glory was really crunchy and it came with an appetizing side of prawns in Thai vinaigrette which was sweet and sour.


Spicy Green Curry Pork 220 Bhat
This was my favorite, it was loaded with flavors which were perfectly balanced, it was mildly spicy and the pork was really tender cooked with Thai aubergine and pea aubergine.


Mushroom Tom Yam in coconut milk 200 Bhat
I was pretty surprised this was not spicy at all but it was rich in flavors, this went really well with the steamed rice.


Fried chicken wings with fish sauce 120 Bhat
A delicious dish to serve as a snack as well, the crispy chicken wings were filled with fish sauce aroma and flavor.


Stir fried broccoli with prawn and oyster sauce 220 Bhat
A simple dish, broccoli stir fried with fresh and large tiger prawns.


Omellete mom's recipe 100 Bhat
This was egg-cellent, it's definitely not your usual fried egg, I love how the egg was really rich and has a rich and creamy bite to it. A must try here!


Stir fried pork with chili and basil 150 Bhat
This dish is spicy and savory the pork was fried with wok aroma altogether to added the deliciousness of this dish.


Fried cat fish with chili and crispy basil 180 Bhat
The fish was cooked beautifully until it has a golden brown crispy coating, it was so good, you could literally eat every part of the fish. It also comes with a mild Thai green chili sauce to add more spicy flavors to it.

Baan Glom Gig will be a great place to bring your family and friends to enjoy a good meal, the food was generally good although prices here might be higher than the average, you do get what you paid for.
