Selera Indonesia at Nook Aloft Kuala Lumpur for Ramadan 2019

by - March 15, 2019

There’s nothing better than being with family, friends and delicious food after a day of fasting. Book a spot at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral's all-day dining restaurant Nook this holy month of Ramadan and indulge in a glorious Ramadan Buffet with a sensation spread of traditional Indonesian and Malaysian dishes. The Joms Buka @ Nook Selera Indonesia Ramadan Buffet will be served daily starting from 7th May to 3rd June 2019 from 630pm till 1030pm, it's priced at RM138 per adult.

Traditional appetizers and salads showcasing Indonesia’s flavors will be part of the buffet line up with dishes including Gado Gado, Urap Sayur, Rojak Uleg Indonesia, Pecal Kangkung, Cilok with kuah Kacang and a variety of Kerupuk.

Taking centre stage at the carving station is the Daging Sapi Gongso, Nook’s signature this Ramadan. Marinated with an Indonesian sweet soy sauce, red chili and a mixture of Asian spices. The marinated meat is slowly braised for three hours to retain the flavors of the marinade and keep the meat tender.

A selection of Sambal and Indonesian Curry dishes including Sambal Matah, Sambal Cabe Ijo, Sambal Terasi, Sambal Bawang, Gulai Ayam Padang, Gulai Daging Tetel, Gulai Masak Lemak Nangka will be offered along with Indonesian rice dishes, the Nasi Kebuli, Nasi Sagung Madura and Nasi Kuning to complement the meal.

To further bolster the tantalizing offerings, there will be live station serving up Kambing Bakar, Bubur Lambuk and Warung Sup.

You can also find a diversity of foods such as Chinese, Indian and Western dishes on the buffet line which is worth a visit to whet your appetite.

Thirst quenchers to complement the Ramadan spread at Nook will include Air Tebu, Sirap Bandung, Air Kurma, Teh Tarik, Nescafe Tarik and Kopi Hang Tuah.

Don't forget to save room for dessert, a variety of Indonesian, Malaysian and Western desserts will fill the buffet line headlined by a variety of Indonesian specials including Kuih Lapis Bandung, Kolang Kaling, Bubur Sumsum, Sago Air Gula and Kolak Ubi.

My ultimate favorite is the Bubur Sumsum which is a sweet coconut rice porridge, the santan flavor is thick and I topped it with some gula melaka so it was simply a burst of flavors.

The Ramadan Early Bird vouchers for Joms Buka @ Nook Selera Indonesia will be available for sale from 1 April - 3 May 2019. Vouchers are priced at RM105 nett per voucher for purchases of 1 - 35 vouchers and RM95 nett per voucher for purchases of 36 vouchers and more. The voucher validity is only for the Ramadan period from 7 May - 3 June 2019. Diners are encouraged to call ahead for reservations prior to dining at Nook.
